Verified ReviewerTERRIBLE RETURN POLICY FOR DAMAGED PRODUCT
I paid $10 extra for shipping to purchase a pair of shoes so that I would get them faster. I have the exact same pair and wanted to replace them for an upcoming trip.
The shoes arrived and one of the shoes has a scuff mark on the front of the shoe. The mark goes all the way into the leather and is very visible, especially in sunlight. I have the polishing kit that I bought from the Walking Company and tried to buff out the scratch, but no luck.
I've tried to contact the company via email and get the automatic response. Pay $10 to return the shoes.
What??? I already paid $10 extra to get damaged shoes and they don't stand by their product. So I called and got the same response. Basically they are not taking any responsibility for shoes that cost me $140.
So I will be paying a total of $20 for shipping fees and end up with nothing. As a note, I sent the original email to the company on the day that I received the shoes, so it wasn't as if I had them for any length of time.
- I like their products
- Return policy for damaged items requires 10 dollar shipping
- Limited in store locations
- Phone employee no help only quotes company policy
Preferred solution: I want a replacement pair of shoes and not have to pay the return shipping costs. I would also like a refund of the original $10 shipping.
User's recommendation: Buy in a store, don't trust their on-line products as they don't stand by the quality

Verified ReviewerUnworn shoes not allowed to be returned
I ordered 3 pairs of shows on their website. I tried all 3 on and walked only in my family room.
Two pairs did not feel comfortable and were returned by mail two days later. Approximately 10 days later the shoes were returned back to me with a letter stating they would not honor my return because the shoes were worn. I Immediately contacted TWC And explained I did not wear them more than 10 min in my home and offered to send them pictures of the unworn shoes. Refund still denied.
I asked to speak with a manager. I waited a week but still did not receive a manager call so I called again. I was advised to contact the manufacturer directly. I called the manufacturer explained above and emailed them pictures of the shoes.
I was told someone would look into situation. I never heard back. I contacted TWC again and was told a manager would call me back. No call back received.
I have now contacted my cc company to dispute the charge.
I feel like TWCs return policy is false advertising. A person should be able to try the shoes on and walk in them for 5-10 min in their own home to see if they fit!

Verified ReviewerManager is out of control
So on Thurs of last week my daughter, boyfriend and I walked into the Freeport store and the cashier didn't even bother to look up from her phone to greet us let alone be bothered with us. We were also the only ones in the store.
So I went back Sunday to try again. I was looking for Birkenstock's, and she was there again with another person. I asked do you have black Birkenstock. No only suede. I proceeded to try on a different shoe and the lady started yelling at me that I can't try on shoes because they need to sanitize everything, and she doesn't know where I have been etc. I said sorry I didn't know there isn't a sign anywhere. So I said there is no need to be aggressive. She said I wasn't I said yes you are. She said something about a ped thing to try on . All the while we are not even 6 feet near each other.
I had a mask on that was pulled under my nose because I have breathing issues. And she approached me in a manner that I didn't know what she would do and motioned for me to pull my mask up, again I was nowhere near her or the employee and yet again your store was completely empty.
So I was pissed at the amount of disrespect, so I pulled my mask down and she came at me screaming "GET THE *** OUT OF MY STORE"!!!! I said are you serious? At this time my husband was standing up because he was outside on the bench waiting for me. She basically chased me out of the store and slammed the door and locked it like I was going to fight her. We were in shock and stood there to understand what just happened. She then was still screaming at me from inside the locked store to get the *** out of here!!!!
We left .
I am utterly disappointed in the way a manager Kathleen is her name acted. If you are that mad that you have to work or the SCARED then why are you there.
I will Never shop at your stores again and let everyone know that you employ managers that treat customers like dirt. I am beyond disappointed by this and I am not saying that I am a saint but there was absolutely no reason for this to happen to anyone.
Meanwhile, in another shoe store I tried on shoes as well as everyone else without a ped and no one accosted me or threw us out for doing so.
I am expecting a phone call from Kathleen's district manager or someone higher up to discuss this situation.
